Diet Companion is built around one idea: helping you stay consistent, not tracking you. We collect only what we need to make the app work. This policy covers both the Diet Companion iOS app and this website.
Information We Collect
Account information. When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from the identity provider. We use this solely to create and identify your account.
Health and diet data. We store the information you enter: height, weight, age, activity level, calorie and macro goals, meal logs, and daily check-ins. This data stays on our servers solely to power your app experience.
Subscription information. Purchases are processed by Apple. We receive confirmation of your subscription status via RevenueCat but never see your payment details.
Website wishlist email. If you join the waitlist on this site, we store your email address to notify you when the app is available. We don't sell it or use it for anything else.
Error logs. We may collect basic crash reports to fix bugs. We do not use third-party analytics SDKs or ad tracking.
How We Use Your Information
- To create and maintain your account
- To generate personalized calorie and macro targets
- To power the recovery engine and mascot reactions
- To process your subscription and unlock premium features
- To estimate meal nutrition using Google Gemini AI — your description or photo is sent to Google's API; we do not store raw images
- To notify wishlist members when the app launches
- To improve app stability via error logs
We do not sell your data. We do not use your health data for advertising.

Diet Companion uses the following services, each with their own privacy policy:

Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us below. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
Children's Privacy
Diet Companion is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us below. If you are in the EU or UK, you also have rights under GDPR/UK GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be communicated via an in-app notice. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
